| Hi Grant, Would you or anyone who has been successful with this be kind enough to provide step by step how to teather the Verizon Pearl with Mac OSX 10.3.9. I have read all the posts and tried to use the Sprint PCS script, but I can not seem to get it to connect. My phone is paired just not connected. Also, what should the username and password be? Thanks |

Grant/anyone,
I seem to be having a problem that a number of people have experienced and I was wondering if there has been any resolution.
I am on cingular with a BB 8700c and have the following settings:
telephone #: wap.cingular
account name: WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM
password: CINGULAR1
When I set up the connection, the connection is successful for ~2 minutes and then it goes inactive. When trying subsequent connections, the log shows an error. The only way to get the connection to work again is to take the battery out of the 8700c, and then it does the same 2 minute connection. I included the log for both the successful connection and then subsequent unsuccessful connection. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

can anyone help me out?
i have a blackberry8820 and a macbook with osx leopard. i have called ATT but they dont have any support for mac osx so i was left to figure it out myself.
i have downloaded and installed the updated drivers. my bb is connected to my mac via bluetooth and now i am trying to tweak the setting to be able to connect.
i was told to change my bb TCP settings to:
APN: isp.cingular
Username for APN: ISP@CINGULARGPRS.COM
Password for APN: CINGULAR1
my bluetooth modem settings are:
Telephone Number: *99#
Account Name: ISP@CINGULARGPRS.COM
Password: CINGULAR1
i continue to receive the following error on my laptop when i try to connect:
Internet Connect
Could not negotiate a connection with the remote PPP server. Please verify your settings and try again.
if anyone can help i would greatly appreciate it.
thank you. |

Using BB 8820 on ATT, MB.
I installed the scripts and setup, both, according to directions.
Connection was successful the first time. Surfed, etc....
Now, connection fails. Here is output of ppp log(verbose). Any ideas?

I had the same problems. I realized later that I had Bootcamp installed with Windows on the other side of the fence, so I got on the phone with AT&T and added their special parameters to connect via DUN in Windows. That has been working fine so far with my 8820. But now that I've confirmed the system works, I need to go back to the Mac side and see if I can get it working - I had the exact same settings and was getting the exact same error. Not sure what to change other than uninstalling the bluetooth and blackberry network settings and starting over. Will write back if I discover anything... |

I have my MB bootcamped...so I went to the "darkside" (XP) and viola! no issues tethering...
I really didn't want to post this, my fingers are bleeding as i type.
I'm actually posting while I'm connected via bluetooth (TMO), not to bad speed wise, (via speakeasy)
93kbs down, 27kbs up
Not horrible, but could be better. This was using wap.voicestream.com APN. _________________ G-code |

| I have read the posts regarding tethering the mac using the data plan of the blackberry bold, but am concerned that the posts are from 2007 and wondering if the cingular address in the network/bluetooth setup window is accurate or should be AT&T? |
